PORT LINCOLN FRESH 48 - My favourite. Usually done in-hospital within the first 48 hours of your little one's arrival. This is my absolute favourite way of capturing new life. It is mostly candid and a very organic way of documenting those "firsts". We can include feeding, meeting an older sibling, bath time, skin-to-skin with parents... the list goes on. 

BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY - Waitlist open. Renni will be taking bookings for birth photography within Port Lincoln from the months of May-August each year. Outside of this is absolutely possible, pending weddings on the books. Please get in touch with Renni with your due date and previous birthing experience (if any) to discuss. 

LIFESTYLE NEWBORN - suitable for babies up to 10 weeks of age. I follow the "baby-led" approach to newborn photography which means that I follow your babe's lead and natural positioning. It also means that bubs is able to be awake and active if they prefer, and can be a bit older than the standard "up to 10 days" that is preferred for the sleepy studio shots. I actually love them between the ages of 5-8 weeks as they are still so small and new but they are starting to get that real personality to them and the coy little smiles! I aim to do both family shots and close up shots of your little babe (relaxed posed style).

LIFESTYLE SITTER - For previous clients only. suitable for babies aged 6-12 months that are able to sit fully unassisted. A great option for those cute first birthday photos (cue cake smash!!). This session is designed especially for this age bracket; keeping things short, sharp and shiny!

MY MOST ASKED QUESTION.... WHAT AGE IS BEST??

Don't ask me... I say every age!! I have broken it down in to the three most common age ranges for newborn sessions with me:

The fastest changes will happen in the first three days. Fresh48 sessions are named such a way for a reason. Your teeny tiny freshie will transform in to a newborn within the first couple days. Their whole face shape and body shape and everything will likely be different from day one to day three or four! So if you want to remember them exactly as they arrive - Fresh48 on day 1 or 2 (depending how you are feeling post-birth).

Prior to 2 weeks old is when they are at their most squishy and sleepy, so this is good for those curled up 'real newborn' shots. They are still unscrunching and are so small (compared to what they will be!). Around week three generally there will be that first growth spurt where bub will want to be feeding and snuggling on mama constantly, then that leads in to the first 'leap' where they have a developmental growth spurt and may become a bit fussier and not be comfortable to settle for long etc.

Coming out of that first leap somewhere between 4-8 weeks old is when I find they start to lose their real newborn-ness and start to show their little personality a bit more. They start to become aware of their surroundings, their eyes will follow the camera a bit more and from 8 weeks on you get that cheeky glint in their eye and the smiles start to become more and more prominent... and every week something different and new happens, they really do grow SO FAST! So it really depends on what you want to remember/capture most from the early days.

With babes under three months old, these sessions are never rushed and I like to allow for comforting and feeding as required. Newborn sessions take place either in in my home studio in Port Lincoln, or for a more authentic/lifestyle type session these are best done within your own home.

To help to create timeless images, I like to keep props to a minimum and clothing to neutral tones or white where possible.
