RMP | ROCK YOUR FROCK SESSION

WHAT THE HECK IS A "ROCK YOUR FROCK" SESSION?

Ha! Ever heard of Trash the Dress shoots? The wedding couple jump back in their wedding day outfits and do some pretty outrageous things which usually result in very dirty, very messy, possibly ripped and stained clothes! Well.... "Rock your Frock" is a bit more refined take on the same idea! Wedding day has been and gone, and you have a wonderful gallery of memories captured of this epic day! But, due to time constraints on the day, and also due to the fact that you might have preferred staying semi-presentable and dry for your wedding reception (and ceremony if you did first look and photos prior!) there wasn't a chance to explore the option of some pretty unique shots. Think loving each other sick on the shoreline, frolicking in the waves, puddle jumping or getting the ute out and covering that beautiful dress in mud, riding horses/motorbikes/go karts... the list is as long as your imagination! This session can be done in the days following your wedding while everything is still fresh in your mind and we can just extend that "wedding high" you are on, OR it can be done down the track, maybe to celebrate an anniversary or to make some new fun memories!

WHY WOULD I CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF SESSION?

GENERAL COUPLE'S SESSION FAQ

(MOST OF THIS CAN STILL APPLY TO A ROCK YOUR FROCK TYPE SESSION; JUST X THE OTT FACTOR BY LIKE 100! LOL)

Couple's sessions are a great time for you to document who you are as a couple, where you are at in life, how and why your relationship began. It is a time for intimacy and playfulness. Your session can be as simple as a stroll through your favourite park, sipping a cup of coffee in your own home, or it can be three outfit changes and a dip in the ocean!

My approach is very candid, very low key. I want you to enjoy this photo session, I want it to be a celebration of your relationship. We pick a spot, go for a wander. I will ask you to do certain things, stand a certain way, and then I photograph the in-between poses... thats my favourite. I love it when my couples are up for something a bit different; sitting or laying on the ground, wading out in to the ocean, dressing up to the nines, incorporating the fur-babies... the list is endless!

Location is entirely up to what you want. I will discuss with you what sort of backdrop you prefer; whether you are more beach, rural or park style. You might have a special spot in mind that you would like to check out. Or a spot that offers a couple of different backdrop options (beach on one side, country scenes on the other). If you don't have anywhere in mind I will suggest something that will work for what you are thinking so don't stress too much!

The biggest question I get asked is "what do we wear?" and I find this is easiest answered by asking couples how they see their photos displayed... Engagement photos can be used for either formal or informal use. Some couples like to use these for their save the date cards or wedding guest signing book, they also look awesome framed in your home or prettying up your social media account! I want you to feel amazing, like you are dressing up for a special occasion... because it IS a special occasion, and we ARE celebrating!

FOR ENGAGED COUPLES - CHANNEL YOUR WEDDING DAY LOOK. Girls, it's totally acceptable to wear white! While your engagement shoot doesn't have to feel overly bridal, a white top or dress is a sweet nod to your wedding dress and also helps you to get a feel for how your colour palette is going to photograph on your big day! It also allows for your engagement photos to compliment your wedding photos when they come along, rather than be going in two different directions. Consider playing with texture: sheer material, Cotton-based fabrics like eyelet lace, crochet and Swiss dot all have dimension that shows up well on camera and gives your outfit an instant vintage twist. I also am a massive fan of beautiful prints (think Spell, Arnhem, Auguste, House of Skye, Indian Summer Co, Jaase...) as they photograph so well and can be a bit of fun if you want some colour, that will also look amazing for black and white photos. Boys, you will look great in chinos and a nice plain shirt, even a blazer or a textured jumper if its a bit cooler weather. Let your wifey-to-be pick her outfit/s and then just make sure that your outfit compliments her colour choices without being too matchy matchy... job done!

Any questions, just ask!
